Doom Metal Alliance Sampler Volume 9 Review
DMA Sampler Vol.9 Download HERE
Lemme tell you, Ed is tearing shit up over at the DMA and at his other blog (Doomantia).
Great, on target reviews covering all branches of the Doom world from sludge to stoner to traditional and everything in between. They are on my weekly reading lists. In addition to the reviews and interviews they provide regular samplers for FREE download to introduce you to a lot of the bands that they cover.
The newest volume is the 9th installment. I would have to say it is probably my favorite of all of them. There is something for everyone on here. We have crushing death doom from Calliophis, Dark Covenant brings a more gothic influenced (vocally) side to the doom, Coffins Riders elicits visions of classic doom outfits like St Vitus and Solitude Aeturnus, and even some drone from the aptly named Wizardrone. This is going on the ipod so I can listen at work too. Definitely pick this up and check out the previous volumes as well. You are guaranteed to find a future favorite band on these comps.
